Tagawa - Synergistic Effect of Increased Total Protein

This study examined the combined effects of increased total protein intake and strength training in older adults. The results show that higher protein intake (above current recommendations) combined with regular strength training leads to greater improvements in muscle mass, strength, and function than either measure alone. The findings support a synergistic approach to preventing sarcopenia and promoting physical independence in older adults.
