How important is the flavour of children’s toothpaste?

Children’s toothpaste is used daily from the moment the first milk tooth appears and is therefore one of the regularly recurring taste experiences.

Many conventional children’s toothpastes have a distinctly sweet flavour to make brushing teeth more pleasant. From the perspective of flavour learning, it makes sense to consciously design these taste stimuli as well.

ApaCare Kids therefore relies on a mildly balanced formula with reduced sweetness. The toothpaste contains xylitol, but does not use sweetness as a dominant flavour characteristic.

A pleasantly subtle flavour is intended to support daily oral care without additionally appealing to a strong preference for sweetness. However, the long-term influence of this particular toothpaste on future eating habits has not yet been clinically proven.
