Hydroxyapatite (HA) is the main natural component of human tooth enamel and forms the scientific basis of Cumdente’s ApaCare product range. As so-called ‘liquid enamel’, synthetic hydroxyapatite can be deposited directly into demineralised areas of enamel and dentine, repairing them permanently. Several in vitro studies demonstrate that ApaCare toothpastes achieve significantly higher remineralisation rates than conventional fluoride toothpastes. A randomised clinical trial showed that hydroxyapatite remineralises initial caries lesions by 69.3 per cent after one year – without any invasive procedures. For wearers of orthodontic braces and patients at increased risk of caries, ApaCare offers a scientifically proven and tooth-friendly alternative.

Fluoride and xylitol are among the most thoroughly researched active ingredients in modern caries prevention. The caries-inhibiting effect of fluoride has been conclusively demonstrated by decades of scientific research, numerous clinical trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The safety of fluoride, when used as recommended, is also comprehensively documented and confirmed by international dental associations and health organisations. Numerous scientific studies on xylitol demonstrate a reduction in the risk of tooth decay, an increase in saliva flow and a reduction in caries-causing bacteria. Together, fluoride and xylitol form a scientifically established basis for modern caries prevention.

A healthy oral microbiome is the key to long-term oral health. Cumdente’s OraLactin utilises a clinically proven combination of Lactobacillus acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum and Saccharomyces boulardii, which specifically helps to restore balance to the oral microbiome. Randomised, controlled trials demonstrate that probiotic mouthwashes significantly lower the plaque and gingival indices, reduce periodontal pocket depth and increase saliva pH and salivary IgA – in adults as well as in children and adolescents. In a direct comparison, OraLactin achieved comparable or better results than chlorhexidine, but without its typical side effects such as tooth discolouration or changes in taste.

Sensitive teeth are caused by exposed dentine and open dentinal tubules, through which cold, heat, touch or sweet foods can reach the tooth’s nerve directly. Numerous scientific studies have shown that hydroxyapatite effectively seals these fine tubules and forms a natural, protective mineral layer. Berry polyphenols, particularly anthocyanins from blueberries and wild berries, are among the most extensively researched bioactive plant compounds. Beetroot juice and dietary nitrate are among the most thoroughly researched performance-enhancing supplements. Dietary nitrate (NO₃⁻) is converted in the body by the oral microbiota into nitrite and ultimately into nitric oxide (NO) – a key signalling molecule for vasodilation, muscle efficiency and the regulation of inflammation. Meta-analyses of over 100 studies consistently show that nitrate supplementation improves endurance performance, particularly during 2–10-minute exercise sessions and under hypoxic conditions. Muscle mass is far more than just an aesthetic goal – it is a key health indicator for mobility, metabolism and longevity. As we age, the body continuously loses muscle mass (sarcopenia) unless specific measures are taken, which increases the risk of falls, insulin resistance and the need for care. The ISSN (International Society of Sports Nutrition) recommends 1.4–2.0 g of protein per kg of body weight daily, spread across regular meals containing leucine-rich, easily digestible protein sources. Meta-analyses of 82 RCTs confirm that the combination of increased protein intake and strength training improves muscle mass and strength in a dose-dependent and synergistic manner. Whey protein, in particular, has shown excellent results in clinical trials involving patients with sarcopenia.
