Oral, Dental, and General Health
A holistic Concept

Health, Vitality, and Performance – The Key to a Fulfilling Life

Our health and well-being form the foundation for an active, vital life.

A diverse and well-functioning microbiome in the mouth and gut is crucial in this regard. It not only ensures digestion and nutrient absorption but also plays a key role in regulating our immune system and producing essential signaling molecules.

The mouth as a key factor for our health

A healthy mouth is not only important for dental health but also impacts our performance and overall health. Just like our gut microbiome, the oral microbiome is closely linked to our immune system. Proper nutrition, lifestyle habits, physical activity, and targeted supplementation are essential in shaping this microbiome and determining how it interacts with our immune system.

Particularly interesting is the fact that oral bacteria convert nitrate from plant-based foods into nitrite, which in turn leads to the production of a key signaling molecule in the gut – a compound that protects blood vessels, regulates blood pressure, and promotes both vitality and performance.

ApaCare & OraLactin – Scientifically Proven, Holistic Prevention for Strong Teeth, a Healthy Microbiome, and Increased Vitality.

Which Toothpaste is the Best Choice?

Toothpaste is more than just a cleaning paste – Toothpaste optimizes the effectiveness of the toothbrush, protects the teeth, and supports oral health. It contains gentle cleaning agents for plaque removal and essential ingredients that remineralize enamel and stabilize the oral microbiome.

  • Fluoride (up to 1500 ppm in adult toothpaste, 1000 ppm for children) binds calcium from saliva to the tooth surface and promotes natural remineralization – an essential protection against cavities
  • Liquid enamel (hydroxyapatite), as found in ApaCare toothpaste, enhances the effect of fluoride, forms a protective, smoothing layer on the teeth, repairs microscopic defects, reduces sensitivity, and ensures a naturally white smile.
  • Probiotic toothpaste, such as ApaCare OraLactin Toothpaste, goes even further. Prebiotics promote the growth of beneficial bacteria and strengthen the microbiome. Postbiotics specifically target harmful bacteria and support a healthy bacterial balance. Additionally, they promote natural blood pressure and metabolic regulation through positive oral bacteria.

Expert-Tip
Toothpastes with a dual formula of fluoride and hydroxyapatite (liquid enamel).

ApaCare toothpaste offers an effective combination of remineralization, protection, and gentle whitening – completely free from questionable additives. ApaCare OraLactin toothpaste enhances this with probiotic ingredients for a healthy oral flora and holistic health promotion.

Building up the Oral Flora

All age groups from the age of 6 can benefit from OraLactin.

With ApaCare OraLactin toothpaste and mouthwash, the oral flora is strengthened with every use – completely automatically and without any extra effort. Thanks to the unique combination of prebiotics, postbiotics, and liquid enamel, the natural balance of oral bacteria is promoted, the protective barrier of the oral mucosa is improved, and the enamel is remineralized.

The prebiotics it contains serve as the perfect nutrient source for beneficial bacteria and support the growth of useful microbes, while the postbiotics act as natural, bacteriaspecific signaling molecules that inhibit the growth of unwanted germs and strengthen both the natural immune defense and the protective barrier of the mucous membranes.

Maintain or specifically restore the balance of the oral microbiomwith OraLactin probiotics containing live microorganisms:

  • Before, during, or after a dental treatment or prophylaxis – supports regeneration and strengthens the oral microbiome.
  • For high susceptibility to cavities, gum or implant inflammation, and periodontitis – promotes a healthy bacterial colonization and inhibits pathogenic germs.
  • For bad breath or sensitive mucous membranes – reduces odor-causing bacteria and soothes irritated mucous membranes.
  • For seniors – supports oral health, alleviates dry mouth, and helps prevent the age-related decline of a healthy oral flora.

Expert-Tip
Probiotic active ingredients support the stabilization of a healthy oral flora:

Oral care products with OraLactin and probiotic effects complement dental prophylaxis with holistic health aspects – for a stable oral flora, stronger defenses, and long-term prevention.

Tip

The Power of Proper Nutrition
Nitrate and the Microbiome.

Nitrate for a Healthy Microbiome

Nitrate-rich foods such as beetroot, leafy greens, and spinach are true superfoods for oral health. Certain oral bacteria convert nitrate into nitrite, which is further processed in the body into nitric oxide (NO) – an essential signaling molecule that protects blood vessels, regulates blood pressure, and enhances performance.

Antioxidants for Cell Protection & Anti-Inflammatory Effects

Fruits rich in secondary plant compounds and enzymes – such as blueberries, papaya, or mangosteen – support the balance of the oral microbiome and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Drink Enough Water

Water is essential for healthy mucous membranes, good digestion, and the natural cleansing of the oral cavity. It helps neutralize harmful acids and supports saliva production, which is crucial for protecting the teeth.

Beware of Hidden Sugars

Sugar is considered the primary cause of cavities, but it also contributes to inflammation and metabolic diseases such as diabetes. Even sugar substitutes (except for xylitol) and fruit sugar can have similarly negative effects. Hidden sugars in light beverages, processed foods, and supposedly healthy snacks are particularly dangerous.

Acid & Enamel Protection

Acidic foods like citrus fruits or sour drinks can weaken tooth enamel. Therefore, it is recommended to wait up to two hours after consumption before brushing your teeth to avoid further enamel erosion.

Expert-Tip
Nutrition as natural medicine for your teeth:

  • Enjoy blueberries regularly – they strengthen the immune system and support a healthy microbiome.
  • Incorporate leafy greens & beetroot into your diet – for natural blood pressure regulation.
  • Reduce sweet snacks – minimizes the risk of cavities & protects the teeth.

Specific nutrient supply as needed and when necessary
Depending on individual life stages, risk groups, or life circumstances, additional nutrients may be beneficial:

  • Vitamin D – supports the immune system, strengthens bones, and protects against gum inflammation. Especially important for people over the age of 45.
  • Folic acid & iron – essential for cell division and oxygen transport. Particularly important during pregnancy and in times of increased physical strain.
  • Magnesium – promotes muscle relaxation and nerve function. Relevant for athletes, individuals under stress, or those with inflammatory conditions, including periodontitis.
  • Vitamin C – acts as an antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, and enhances iron absorption.

Expert-Tip
A balanced, functional diet
with high-quality, natural nutrients rich in proteins is beneficial for everyone. However, targeted supplementation should only be done after an individual needs analysis (laboratory diagnostics) to prevent deficiencies and overdosing.

Naturally White Teeth – Gentle, Effective, and Long-Lasting

The natural tooth color is genetically determined and largely depends on the thickness and composition of the enamel. While the yellowish dentin inside the tooth shines through the enamel, light reflection effects create the unique shade of each smile. As we age, the enamel becomes thinner, making the teeth appear slightly darker.

Traditional bleaching methods roughen the tooth surface, making it porous and causing the tooth to appear temporarily lighter. However, this process alters light reflection, making the teeth look duller. Over time, the tooth structure remineralizes through saliva, and the whitening effects fade.

Gentle Alternative:
Natürliche Whitening with ApaCare Repair

Instead of stressing the tooth structure, ApaCare Repair Intensive Repair relies on highly concentrated liquid enamel (hydroxyapatite). This smooths and densifies the tooth surface sustainably, optimizing natural light reflection – for long-lasting brighter, smoother, and healthier teeth.

Expert-Tip
In the evening after brushing your teeth:

ApaCare Repair.
Apply the tooth repair paste (e.g., with your finger or a toothbrush) and let it work overnight. For those who want to accelerate or intensify the effect, the ApaCare Repair dental tray provides an extra-intensive treatment.

Plaque?
What to Do?

Radiantly clean teeth are no coincidence – even with good oral hygiene, plaque and discoloration can still develop. Enjoyable substances such as coffee, tea, red wine, or nicotine often leave unsightly stains. Certain medications or mouthwashes containing chlorhexidine can also lead to tooth discoloration when used regularly.

Light deposits, in particular, can be gently removed or reduced with a polishing toothpaste like ApaCare Polish. Weekly use ensures a smoother, brighter tooth surface and helps reduce new plaque formation.

Polishing Paste for Home Use – ApaCare Polish

  • Gently removes discoloration and deposits.
  • Smooths the tooth surface and protects against new plaque and tartar buildup.
  • Extends the effects of professional dental cleanings.
  • Highly effective when used with the ApaCare Sonic toothbrush „Polish“ program.

When to See a Dentist?

  • Tenacious deposits or tartar can only be removed through professional dental cleaning.

Expert-Tip

More than just brushing! Polishing pastes like ApaCare Polish are the perfect addition to daily oral care. Polish 1–2 times per week – for long-lasting smooth, radiantly clean teeth!

The Right Toothbrush!

Electric Toothbrushes
Electric toothbrushes clean more thoroughly than manual toothbrushes, as their rapid bristle movements remove plaque more effectively and help compensate for brushing errors. The award-winning ApaCare Sonic electric toothbrush with 35.000 Schwingungen per minute offers a gentle yet deep cleaning. Thanks to its 3D Sensitive brush heads and five cleaning programs (Clean, White, Polish, GumCare, Sensitive), oral care can be tailored to individual preferences.

when is a manual toothbrush the better choice? For very sensitive teeth, enamel erosion, or after dental procedures, a manual toothbrush—especially one with 3D Micro Clean bristles like the ApaCare Sensitive 3D Micro Clean – can be a gentler alternative.

Brushing correctly:

  • Use brush heads with a mediumsized brush field and medium-soft bristles.
  • Place the brush at a 45° angle to the teeth and gums, applying light pressure.
  • No need for strong pressure – the sonic toothbrush does the work for you.
  • Avoid back-and-forth motions, as they can damage the gums and tooth necks.

Expert-Tip
A vibrating toothbrush Is better than brushing by hand.

The ApaCare Sonic provides an exceptionally thorough clean, while the ApaCare manual toothbrush with 3D Micro Clean bristles offers a gentle alternative for sensitive teeth – ensuring noticeably smooth, healthy teeth.

Tip

Chewing Gum – A Useful Addition to Oral Care.

Chewing gum can have a positive effect on oral health:

It stimulates saliva production, supports the natural remineralization of teeth, and strengthens the immune defense in the mouth. However, sugar-containing gum should be avoided, as it increases the risk of cavities.

Important: The positive effects begin within just a few minutes. Excessive chewing (longer than 10 minutes multiple times a day) can overstrain the jaw muscles and lead to tension or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues.

Highly Recommended:

Chewing gums with a high xylitol content (birch sugar), such as ApaCare Gum Anti-Cavity Chewing Gum. Xylitol inhibits cavity-causing bacteria and, with regular use, has been proven to reduce the risk of cavities.

Expert-Tip
Chewing Gum as an Oral Care Aid.

Several times a year, try a xylitol chewing gum course
(30 days with ApaCare Gum).

Teens & Adults (12 years and older):
Chew 1 ApaCare Gum 3 times a day.

Children (3–12 years):
Chew 1 ApaCare Gum once a day.

Tip

Dry Mouth – When the mouth and tongue feel burning.

Saliva is a true multitasker:

It not only helps with chewing and swallowing, but also promotes remineralization of the teeth, neutralizes acids, and transports taste substances and immune factors. Normally, we produce between 700 ml and 1 liter of saliva daily, but production decreases at night.

Dry mouth can significantly impact quality of life, causing painful symptoms like mouth and tongue burning. It also promotes inflammatory conditions.

The causes of dry mouth are diverse, ranging from dehydration, mouth breathing, stress, and smoking or alcohol consumption, to medication use, hormonal changes, and side effects from chemotherapy or radiation, autoimmune diseases, or cancer. If symptoms persist, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Relief
Can be achieved by drinking enough fluids throughout the day, especially during meals. Additionally, reducing coffee, alcohol, and cigarette consumption, and avoiding strongly spiced or salty foods can help. Chewing gum (such as ApaCare Gum) or chewing pastilles (like ApaCare OraLactin pastilles)also promotes saliva production.

Expert-Tip

Hyaluronic Acid for Relief

Regular use of hyaluronic acid products (such as ApaCare OraLactin Liquid) helps bind moisture and keep the oral mucosa supple.

Simply apply 4-6 times a day for noticeable relief.

Tip

Sensitive Teeth? Gum Recession?

Sensitive Teeth occur when the dentin (tooth layer) is penetrated by fine, fluid-filled tubules that lead to the tooth pulp. Particularly at the gum line, the tooth enamel is thin or incomplete. Cold, sweet, or acidic foods that come into contact with the gum line can trigger pain through these tubules, which can reach the tooth‘s interior. The teeth and nerves themselves are not damaged, but the pain can be uncomfortable.

A permanent solution is to seal the tubules over time. This is best achieved with liquid enamel, such as the one found in ApaCare Repair Tooth Repair Paste, or with ApaCare remineralizing tooth varnish.

Recommendation: For sensitive teeth, it is best to apply ApaCare Repair Tooth Repair Paste directly to the gum line (most easily with your finger) in the evening after brushing your teeth and leave it to work.
For more intense discomfort or widespread sensitivity, it is recommended to also use an ApaCare dental tray or ApaCare remineralizing tooth varnish.

Gum Bleeding and Gum Recession are common signs of periodontitis, an inflammatory disease of the tooth-supporting structures that, if left untreated, can lead to tooth loss. This condition often develops gradually and remains unnoticed in its early stages. Only a dentist can accurately assess the condition of the tooth-supporting structures and determine if periodontitis is present. Therefore, it is advisable to consult a dentist promptly if noticeable changes in the gums occur, in order to prevent potential irreversible bone loss.

The dentist plays a central role not only in the diagnosis but also in preventing the progression of the disease. Through regular check-ups and supportive periodontitis treatments – a specialized therapy that goes far beyond a regular dental cleaning and also treats gum pockets and tooth root surfaces – the progression of periodontitis can be effectively stopped.

Expert-Tip

Home dental care alone is not enough to stop the progression of periodontitis. However, it is an important part of the overall treatment. Through regular dental visits and timely implementation of supportive therapies, control and cleaning intervals can be extended – depending on the severity and risk factors, for example, to 1–3 visits per year.
